The Inspirations at Midway Baptist Church in Meigs, Georgia

The Inspirations are one of Southern Gospel’s oldest and best groups. This was a small church in the absolute middle of nowhere, but it was was packed. Good concert.

Mark Trammell Quartet at Indian Springs Baptist Church in Tallahassee

Great sound as always. One of the best quartets around!

Freedom Hill Quartet at Friendship Primitive Baptist Church, Crawfordville Florida

This small church is aptly named. Over half the people came over to us, introduced themselves and shook our hand.
We had seen Freedom Hill twice before and always enjoy hearing them. They sing typical quartet style.

The Perrys and the Old Paths at Lighthouse Children’s Home in Tallahassee

The Lighthouse Children’s Home girls led off with several songs and testimonies. They are always inspirational.

The Perrys have struggled so much these last several years with Tracy and Libbi’s health problems, it’s amazing they have held the group together. Neither Traci nor Libbi were here, but their substitutes sounded good.

We had never seen the Old Paths before. What a blessing! They are now in our top 5 favorite list.

Tribute Quartet at Tallahassee Heights Methodist

This was out 1st time seeing them. They featured the bass singer on 2 songs, but other than that, you could not hear his part at all. We enjoyed them and would go them again locally.

Jeff & Sheri Easter at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park in Madison, Florida

This was our first time seeing them. I have to admit, from watching their videos, I had always thought Sheri was Jeff’s mother. I was surprised to find out she is his wife. We like their radio songs and videos, but they were at lot more twangy in person.  This probably our only time seeing them.

Gold City Quartet at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Campground in Madison, Florida

We are here about every 6 months. It’s only about an hour from our house and right on the Interstate. It has a very nice auditorium for a campground, ok seats, and climate controlled.

LifeSong, a local trio led off the sing. We had gone to their website and listened to several of their songs. Jessica, their alto sounded much more ‘twangy’ in person.

Gold City has a great sound. They are definitely one of our favorites. We miss Tim Riley and hope he can return soon.

Emmaus Road Quartet at Woodville United Methodist Church, Woodville, Florida

Emmaus Rd Q 2

They are a typical Southern Gospel quartet with good harmony. They have several new members (again) since the last time we saw them, but still have a strong sound. The bass singer has only been with them a week.  They sang a combination of hymn standards and newer songs. We look forward to seeing them again when they’re in the area.

Booth Brothers at The Lighthouse Children’s Home in Tallahassee, Florida

  • The Lighthouse Girls led off as usual. They are always inspirational. I want to express a special thank you to Taylor who always makes it a point to run to Heather with a hug.
  • The Booth Brothers have the most polished, professional sound of any Southern Gospel group. They are a trio so there is no bass, but they make up for it with perfect harmony and humor (even the hockey joke flat-lined).

Note: We also always enjoy the hamburgers and sausage dogs the Lighthouse men grill. You can’t beat the price for $2.50 each.
