The Freedom Quartet and the Dixie Echoes at the Lighthouse Children’s Home in Tallahassee, Florida

The Lighthouse Children’s Home girls led off with several songs as always. They have many new girls that are still looking for their sound, but they are always inspirational.

This was the 1st time we’ve seen the Freedom Quartet. Burman Porter (on the far right), is without a doubt, still the best bass in all of Southern Gospel music. When he hits the low notes, your insides literally vibrate. We were also pleased to hear John Rulapaugh. We will absolutely go to see these guys again.

The Dixie Echoes have a new tenor and bass since we saw them last, but still have a good sound. We’re sorry to hear Scoot is leaving after the NQC.
