Chuck Wagon Gang and the Dove Brothers Quartet at The Lighthouse Children’s Home in Tallahassee, Florida
- The Lighthouse Girls led off as usual. They were inspiring.
- Chuck Wagon Gang is always good, with a consistent sound, for 75 years now, and tonight was no exception.
- The Dove Brothers have been our favorite for many, many years. The first 4 songs were way too loud and the band overpowered the singers. McCray then took an audience vote to see if we thought they were too loud. After the vote, he made adjustments on the sound board and the rest of the concert was good. They have decided to stay with the new more twangy sound. The prevailing opinion, with everyone I talked with during the break, is the steel guitar does NOT fit with their sound. It detracts, a lot.
